Our technology
The company Woehburk has created a technology to give glass the ability to act as a rear projection screen. The material is as transparent as regular laminated sheet glass. Therefore the glass is not noticeable as a multimedia screen when not in usage. If a projector is pointing at the screen the glass turns into a visual screen that can display multimedia content. The Screen can be a shopping window itself or is applied behind regular shopping windows. While retaining the transparency of the window, the screen can be used as a rear projection screen. The maximum available size in one piece is currently 2.000mm x 3.000mm. For larger installations several screens can be put together. The transparent Woehburk screen is market under the brand CristalLine and available in several sizes up to 135”. The company Woehburk is also able to customize the CristalLine and deliver shaped screens like logo forms, curved screens or different aspect ratio. The Woehburk transparent screens are implemented into Digital Signage networks, retail application, and architectural glass projects. The holographic effect that arises from the transparency makes the CristalLine also suitable for special 3D effects on trade fairs and events.
The results of such an extraordinary screen were achieved by combining several new technologies the company has developed. The new process made it possible to create a surface structure on a special layer, which allows particles to form a reflective surface: 1st the layer is optically activated by a laser in order to form a special surface structure. 2nd in vacuum particles are added which create a shell and through ionisation they align on the structure. The material is laminated between two glass sheets and has no visible structure or Moiré pattern that can disrupt the picture. The resolution of the screens exceeds HD by far, so in combination with a high resolution projectors can create new visual experiences.
